Determinate vs. Indeterminate Tomatoes
Tomatos, tomatoes...
Determinate tomatoes are the ones that fruit and mature pretty much all at once, usually within a couple of weeks. They do not need pruning, although they do benefit from being staked or caged. And once they've fruited, they are pretty much done (although I have had a second crop from my Roma tomatoes in the past).
Indeterminate tomatoes bear fruit throughout the season, up until the first frost. They also continue to produce new growth, so they benefit from being pruned.
There are a few other differences, and if the need pops up, I'll post that information here so I can refer back to it occasionally.
