HERB GROWTH STRATEGIES


Rosemary   Outdoor - full sun, good air circulation; infrequent, deep watering (every 2-4 weeks)
                    Indoor - high light, sparse water
                    Propagation - 5-8" cutting, clear lower leaves, nodes produce the roots
                   Pests - spider mites, white mildew 
                            increase air circulation and lower humidity of environment

Sage             Outdoor - full sun, dry between waterings
                     Indoor - high light, sparse water
                     Propagation - 3" cutting in sand or vermiculite
                     Pests - very few, mostly mildew related to over watering

Thyme          Outdoor -
                     Indoor - medium light (6 hours sunlight), regular but not excessive water
                     Propagation - leaf-tip cuttings or separation of rootball
                     Pests - white flies, mealy bugs

Basil            Outdoor -
                     Indoor - high light, medium water...soil slightly moist
                     Propagation - grow from seed
                     Pests - relatively pest free
